Introducing stage 2 (5. 6.): Velenje - Rogaška Slatina (157.8 km)

Velenje will host the start of a stage for the first time in the history of the Tour of Slovenia, for a second day in a row by the water. Park Vista and Velenje Beach are a great venue for the start of this extremely interesting and technical stage with the final laps in Rogaška Slatina. Definitely an opportunity for all types of cyclists.

What do the experts predict?

ANDREJ HAUPTMAN: "The stage will be really interesting, it is obvious that the route designers are taking care of a strong element of unpredictability when choosing the route. The climb to Celje Hut is even more difficult than climb to Črni Kal, so a lot can happen. Even the cyclists aiming for an overall victory will have to have a strong team to control the race. Anything can happen. A small group can remain at the forefront, but on the other hand, the teams with sprinters will have to have a great line-up to be able to bring their cyclists into position for victory in Rogaška Slatina. If the probability of a sprint is about 60% on the first stage, I wouldn't dare bet on the second that a sprint of the main group will decide the winner."

UROŠ MURN: "A much harder stage than the first. If a sprinter looks at the team profile before the start and doesn't know the roads, he will think that the stage is easy, but it is exactly the opposite. The end of the stage will be very technical, with narrow roads and many bends, but at the same time without a meter of flat. Teams that know the route are aware that it will not be easy to get a sprinter to the finish of the stage. The race for the stage win will be completely open."
