Zadnje dni smo veliko pisali o Rafału Majki, Samu Bennettu, Luki Mezgecu in ostalimi kolesarskimi zvezdniki, vendar so se v karavani nahajali tudi kolesarji, ki so dali dirki dodaten pomen tudi za to, ker gre za športnike, ki imajo za seboj celo zelo zanimive zgodbe. Eden od njih je triindvajsetletni Ruandski kolesar, Ndayisenga Xaverine, ki je vozil za ekipo Tirol.
Valens Ndayisenga se je rodil leta 1994 med genocidom v Ruandi. V času od 7. aprila do sredine julija leta 1994 je bilo tam pobitih več kot 800.000 ljudi. Rodil se je v Rwamagana v vzhodni provinci Ruandi. Njegovi starši so mu bili v veliko podporo potem, ko je leta 2012 dosegel drugo mesto na prvenstvu Ruande, takrat star komaj 18 let. Prvi uspeh ga je pripeljal v državno reprezentanco. Leta 2014 in 2016 je zmagal dirko po Ruandi. Lani je nastopal za mlado ekipo Dimension Data in dosegel peto mesto v dirki na kronometer na afriškem prvenstvu. Po njegovih stopinjah gre tudi njegova šestnajstletna sestra Xaverine, ki prav tako že dosega dobre rezultate. Letos ga je v ekipo Tirola pripeljal lastnik ekipe Thomas Pupp, ki je ob tem dejal: »Lani sem obiskal Ruando in spoznal in vzljubil njihov projekt Team Africa rising. Prepričan sem, da je pred afriškimi kolesarji lepa bodočnost«.
Že pred leti je nastal »Rwanda cycling project«, ki so ga ustanovili nekateri bivši ameriški kolesarji in proizvajalci kolesarske opreme na čelu z Richardom Pascoe in blagovne znamke Ricci. Valens Ndayisenga je na letošnji dirki Po Sloveniji dosegel naslednje etapne uvrstitve: Kočevje 112., Ljubljana 103., Rogla 48. in v Novem mestu 78. Skupno je bil na 50. mestu.

Lake Cerknica is one of the largest intermittent lakes in Europe.
The lake normally stays on the Cerknica plain for about eight months a year. Water usually spreads over the surface of 20 km2, but at its fullest, the lake covers a surface of nearly 30 km2.

The castle perched up in the middle of a vertical cliff above the cave and its underground tunnels used to offer a refuge to a number of inhabitants, including the famous knight Erazem of Predjama.

In the area of Postojna there are two world haritages very close one to another, Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle. Postojna cave exciting interior since it was opened to the public, hosted over 37 million visitors from all over the world.
A legendary tourist train takes you to the underground network of karst tunnels, galleries, and halls. For 140 years it has been taking visitors to see stalactites and stalagmites and other features created by water.
Concert Hall in the cave, known for its exceptional acoustics, has sufficient space for 10.000 people. The caves are home to the endemic olm, the largest troglodytic amphibian in the world.
Lipica is the oldest European stud farm continuously breeding one of the oldest cultural horse breeds.
As such it has a remarkable significance as a cultural, historical and natural heritage for Slovenia and Europe.
The village Hrastovlje is one of the jewels of Slovenian Istria, world renowned by its Romanesque church of the Holy Trinity, considered a real treasure of Medieval mural painitings, among which the motif of the “Dance of Death” is the most famous.
This climbing area is situated just a few kilometers from the coast. The routes will be fun both for beginners and experienced climbers and the difficulty range is very diverse, which makes the crag very popular.

International airport of Slovenia with it’s amazing landscape lies just a few km of the city of Kranj, the capital of the Upper Carniola Region.
Tivoli Park is Ljubljana's largest and most beautiful park, stretching right into the city centre. It was designed in 1813 by the French engineer Jean Blanchard.
The park, covering an area of approximately five square kilometres, is crossed by three grand horse chestnut tree-lined walks and landscaped with ornamental flower beds, interesting trees and numerous statues and fountains. Ljubljana was proclaimed as European green capital in 2016.

That is why the city is also called The City of Counts.

Rogaška Slatina is called as well „city of water“ and „city of glass“. With its multi-century tourist history and a large volume of tourist traffic belongs among the oldest and most important tourist places in Slovenia.
